Scottish aces revved up for home race event

Sutton

Jonathan Adam and Gordon Shedden both reckon they'll be in the running for top results in front of their home crowd at Knockhill circuit.

Adam, aged 24 from Kinghorn, is in his first BTCC season but, with a couple of podium places under his belt already in his Airwaves BMW, he is knocking on the door of that maiden race win.

Shedden, 30 from Dalgety Bay, is a proven race-winner in the series. He's tasted the victory champagne ten times in the last three seasons - including, most famously, at Knockhill in 2007 - but now he's with a new team, Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing run by fellow Scot Colin Neill.

The pair will be in action in three races and will be up against what many consider to be the most competitive BTCC grid in over a decade.

Adam said: "If there's anywhere I want to get my first win in the BTCC it's going to be at Knockhill. That would just be so special."

And Shedden added: "It should suit my car, the SEAT Leon. In addition to the unpredictable weather, it's also the topsy-turvy kind of circuit where the established order can get shuffled up that bit more."
